Hey Guys
I have a 2004 4.7 that has inherited a wierd cooling issue. It has never boiled over but the guage will get right next to the H but the cooling fan has never come on yet. It seems to run in the middle just going down the road but as soon as i put any kind of load on it like a grade or a hill the guage starts to climb. As soon as I let up and decel it cools right down. It does not use coolant and there is no CO in the coolant. Is there any inherit problems with the 4.7 I dont know about ? Here is a list of the new parts i have installed 1) Waterpump 2) Cooling system flush 3) Fan clutch 4) T-stat Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks:)

I also have a 2004 4.7 and had the same issues and even replaced thermostat and water pump turned out to have a pin sized hole in the bottom of the radiator... had to replace the radiator no trouble ever since

The electric cooling fan on the 1500's is just for the A/C condensor. Only comes on when A/C is on. Pressure test the radiator cap. Make sure it holds pressure up to the PSI stamped on the cap, bleeding off when it reaches that point. Make sure it has RED-ORANGE coolant, NOT GREEN, even if it says it's compatible. Has it ever truly overheated???
