so...i have some welding equipment and an idea! i don't want to spend ~$300+ on an n-fab or pro-comp light bar, so I want to make my own! i don't have a pipe bender and i'm afraid solid bar would be too heavy...my thought is to go with some EMT from my local hardware store. that way i can cut it to size and tack/screw & tack some 45 or 90 degree turns on to make the bends. I would have to weld on a couple tabs for fog lights, drill a hole or two to run the wiring through it, and maybe pinch the ends and drill them out to make mounting holes on two of the ends?? think it'll work? I've thought about bringing the outside around the front fenders and bending those ends to bolt to the inner wheel well. for vertical support i was going to knock out/drill out my fog light insert and run tubes down to something solid for mounting! let me know what you think!

I'm a TIG/MIG/Stick guy.
You could do that or you can go to some of the online metal places and you can buy some good DOM mild or chromoly tubing and also by a couple 180 degree pieces of bent DOM and cut those to fit, put a slip joint in it and weld it all together with a mig or tig. Or stick weld it if your really good with stick.
One of my buds built a full rollcage and just took carefull measurements and ordered DOM with the bars bent at the shop he ordered them from with a little extra length for fitting. Alot of the shops can prebend for you as well.
You can also try your local community college welding shop my shop had a good bender we could make anything there. They'd help you for free theres always kids in there willing to help out.
