Hey All,
I'm sure this topic has come up in the past but I'm new to this site. I just traded in my '05 1500 ST 4.7L QC for an '08 1500 SLT 5.7L QC and now I've got the itch to start building on it. I asked my dealers mech. about cat back exhaust systems and he told me that they don't sound that good because of the MDS. He's had a customer actually remove the mod! Anyone out there got some input?

There are sooo many different types of cat backs that make completely different sounds. the mds won't affect the noise when you really hear it - during acceleration - because the mds is not functioning with the throttle opened up.

yes but when your cruising it activates so it changes the noise and you can hear it, so i would remove the mds,

Hi

I recently had a custom Y-pipe bent up and installed the Aero Turbine 3030XL. I have MDS and have no problems. This setup is the nuts. No drone whatsoever, at any speed. This setup was recommended to me by Sil over at DodgeTalk.com. Keep the factory resonator on and you will love the sound. I usually drive in Tow/Haul mode, which disables MDS, anyway. I did, however, test the sound by leaving it in drive. It still sounds fine, just better with the MDS gone. Cant wait to purchase a programmer to get rid of that rediculous option. Good Luck.

it really depends on the person im getting one just so i can tell when mds is kicking in..ive heard really the only way to tell seeing there is nothing on the dash is that ur exhaust goes really quiet all of the sudden if ur just driving around town n want it to sound bad ass chances are it wont be in mds anyways because u wont be staying at a consistent rpm

ok! new to this site and from what i'm readying the mds? is probably what is giveing me the problem with my exaust i'v tried flowmaster 40 and another brand and it stays the same, the sound flattens out and sounds really bad kind of like a six popper with a glass pack the shop that put it all on told me that he has a special muffler coming in that would take care of this is this possible? is it possable?
