Good day all, I'm looking for some info on controlling the shifts of the auto tranny while towing. My truck is an '08 2500 5.7 hemi quad cab with 4.10 gears out back. While towing a 6000lb trailer with the tow button engaged, going up hill approaching 40 mph, this truck will sometimes shift into what I think is over drive. Revs will drop to 13-1400 and lug the truck. As I add throttle it takes about 3/4 of peddle to make it downshift and then it moves up the hill. For one, I don't think it should ever enter overdrive in tow/haul mode or at least not lock up the converter. Any thoughts by anyone would be welcome. Thanks, Pete

manually control your shifts. i don't know if they have it but turn the overdrive off. it could just the tranny going to the next gear, not OD. but still, control the shifts manually. best way. IMO.

That's definately an option, I just thought that it shouldn't drop down to fourth (it's a five speed auto) while pulling uphill with the tow/haul mode engaged. Tried it last night and it does tow better with the od button turned off. I've read some info on a superchip programer that gives you control of the shift points (I,m thinking a modified tow mode!?) but I don't have any experience with anything like that. Anyways, thanks for the reply and keep on trucking. Pete
