check engine light. 1994 2500 5.9 V8

just went on a 13 mi trip, check eng light came on half way, no diff in running at all. 90400 miles. i stopped, turned it off, on, light went off.

any thoughts? suggestions???

You need to get the codes checked. Autozone will do it for free. If there are no codes wait until the light comes back on, then DO NOT shut the truck off. Get the codes checked right away. Post them here.

can i shut it off once i get there? only because i don't want to leave it running un attended in my town for any period of time. also, where exactly is the diag. port on the 94 2500?

NO!!! Leave it running. It should be underhood, near the PCM in the RR corner of the enhine compartment, 6 pins.

i have my truck for sale, and a potential buyer and i, took it to a mech today for a once over.

the codes it threw were for:

1 EGR service. ?

2 trans temp too high. i wasn't towing, faulty sensor?
