Which 1 to buy ?? I've been looking on other diesel boards ( not posting) Some say to stay away from the new 08 Dodge 6.7 diesels because of all the emission controls. They are saying that the 6.7 is having too many problems with the PF & EGR.. Also, turbos having to be cleaned within just a few thousand miles...Should I buy an 07 with the 6.7 or go with an 06 with 5.9..What to do ?? I don't want a truck that will be in the shop all the time
Thanks

I have, up untill this past week been wandering the same thing. The 6.7 came out in 07, But, the year started out with 5.9's. After reading much info, talking to my local dodge mech, and finally talking with 2 friends 1 with a 5.9 and 1 with both. It sounds like you can't granny drive your 6.7 or sit around and idle. You gotta work it to keep it happy. Mostly due to emmissions stuff, there may be after market fixs, but the down side is voiding your warrenty The 5.9 on the other hand can idle all day long gets good mileage and is proven. There are a lot of good 05,06,07 5.9 trucks out there (I didn't mention the 04 because I believe in 05 is when the anti theft was standard, anyone correct me if I'm wrong, it may have been an option before 05) I Found mine on ebay after looking all over the country (on my computer :) )
I opted to go with a 06 5.9 with 60K miles on it. Leaving tomorro to Vegas to go get it and have a nice road trip home, after a stop in a casino : 0 : ) Good luck to you in your search : )

my dad has an 07.5 6.7 and we deleted the dpf and emissions and, we have had no problems. and it beats my 5.9 all day long and also gets 22 to 23 mpg.

Thats good to know to their getting if all figured out on the 6.7's. I've had a chance to pull with mine now. No prob at all pulling a 23' boat (about 5k lbs w/trailer) and my 14' cargo trailer, gotta look in the rear view mirror to make shure it's still back there. For what I'm useing the 5.9 for it's great, can't say enough good things about it. I better not drive a 6.7...;)

now if they can get past the transmission the 6.7 will be really good.
