Hey Curtis, I have not heard anything as of yet for the '09 Ram but CAI is one of the most popular mods to do on a new vehicle so I'm sure will get some insight soon. There have been a ton of them put on the Hemi powered cars so you should be able to get some preliminary research from here ....http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=141740

The Mopar part number is 77070023 but it is unavailable just yet. Should be coming soon. I placed a pre-order with my dealer.

I just added the AIRAID CAI to my truck tonight. It took about 45 min to install. The direction were simple and easy to understand. The hardest part was installing the weather strip around the CAD box (go figure). I love the sound. The deeper sound really kicks in when you hammer the pedal. It hard to tell if there are any gains but I believe AIRAID claims about +22hp and +24tq. www.airaid.com (http://www.airaid.com)

I to am looking for a cold air set up. I also have a supercharged corvette and before I put on the supercharger I had a Vararam cold air intake on the vette and it was awesome. It added at least 2 cars to the vette so I called up Vararam and they have one for the 08 but not the 09. Said it would be early spring and they told me they were haveing the same success out of the o8 dodge as they did the corvette so I'll wait. The dodge cold air looked like the orange 6-pak air cleaner of early years but was inclosed and got the air from under the front bumper. Check out their website.

If I add a mopar cai, will it void my warranty, I don't want to do anything to void the lifetime warranty.

Have you taken a look at the True Flow XDI cold air intake. That are suppose to be the best one on the market right now.

I have just installed AFE Stage II and love it. Nice performance increase and really like the sound. I also have the Bully Dog GT, and Flowmaster 50 muffler.
Here's my numbers

Stock 0-60 7.3 seconds
Bully Dog GT / Flowmaster 50 0-60 6.3 seconds
The above and AFE 0-60 5.5 seconds / 13.9 @ 98 in the quarter

Presume you have the Hemi with performance figures you present. Do you? Did the changes change gas mileage significantly?

Well, that all depends on how I drive it. However, I havn't really noticed a difference in MPG. I typically get around 17-18 driving back and forth to work, which is mostly highway, with some start and stop, but for a truck this size, that's great. At times when I do drive the speed limit, I have gotten 20+ but, that's because I had to drive right.

I see you use the word "presume", and just so you know I really couldn't care less, if anyone believes the #'s I posted, I was only sharing MY info. So, please take it with a grain of salt.

Have a good day. Geaux Saints!

i've got an insider at a dodge dealership and he has told me that dodge is really picky when it come to aftermarket products. if you put anything on your ram he insists that it only be warrentied mopar parts. i to want an intake on my 09 ram but when it comes to the warrenty mopar and the $466 dollar price tag for the intake is not an option. if you have questions about what you can and can't put on your truck i would strongly suggest a call to your local dealer first.

Easiest way around that is to keep the stock intake and do a swap before heading into the dealership. Though this only works if you don't have your service done at the dealership.

Its a VARARAM HEMI UNDE GLASS but its only for the 3rd gen rams 2003-2008 HEMI it will not work on the 09sand up due to the throttle body on the gen 3s being toward the back of the engine and the gen 4s in front like the LXs but have herd rumors of VARARAM developing a CIA for the gen 4s but its still in prototype at this point

I have an '09 Hemi Ram w/ the factory dual exhaust. I'm thinking of adding a CAI, but do I also have to do something to my exhaust to get any benefit? My exhaust goes single into 1 muffler (factory) and splits into duals.
Thanks,
Jim

NO ANY CHANGE IS BETTER THAN STOCK, YOU WILL SEE A SLIGHT BENIFIT if you only do a CIA sorry for the caps not retyping

Do I need to do anything different to the exhaust? Different muffler?

you dont need to,changing just the muffler wont do much if any thingi dont know about the 09s and up but on my 07 it had 3 resonators and a muffler after the y-pipe it gone now did my own cat back system, but a cat back exhaust will also help a little more but you dont need to. the engine is a big air pump if you help it breath better it will perform better same as if you were to get rid of the exhaust better it would run a little better

So, Do or don't get the CAI and do or don't change the exhaust? I don't want to do it just to spend money and have something new. How much will it help if I do either or both?
Thanks,
Jim

I now Question the super genius under your scream name, hopefully this will sum it up for you, at most if you do both 1-3 MPGs

I saw it somewhere when I first got my truck, but I'm not sure where. I also don't remember seeing any results as far as improved performance goes.

get a K&N not an air raid or a mopar. K&N is the best by far :D

First I think the factory airbox is huge and a large amount of air gets to it. I personally like the hood with the working air. Does the challenger type hood have a working air intake?

I realize this is a dead thread, but I had a K&N 77-series on my '04 Nissan Titan, and it was a very nice intake system. Fit like a glove, no problems with fouling the MAF, and never caused a CEL. If anyone is interested, I emailed Volant about their 09-11 CAI for the Hemi trucks, and they said IT WILL fit the 2012 model.

K&N makes a nice one, as I stated above. When I get one for my truck, it will be the Volant unit. Pricey, but very well built.

I just want to add that I've been putting CAIs on most of the vehicles I've ever owned and to come to the realization that people are just paying for name brands when a cheaper CAI off Ebay works just as well (yeah yeah the ebay word came out). Anything with a smooth inner surface that flows air without blockage and a good K&N Filter or what have you works great. Check out Chrome Intakes on Ebay. I just dont see the purpose of buying a $300 plastic box and tubing but to each his own!

I have a Green Filter CAI on my '08. Love the sound under full throttle but hate the sound when the MDS kicks in... Got the Big Horn pkg plus towing pkg (bought it used). Just now got it up to 15-16MPG on the highway. It loves hot temps and will get up to 18 on the highway.
