front end problems

I've heard that the rubber used on the tie-rods and ball joints is too hard and they are wearing out faster than they should. Dodge isn't making it a recall item, but have replaced them on my buddies 07 ram. Does anyone know if the 08 ram has the same problem?

I looked at mine while I was replacing the struts. Not happy with the way they looked (pretty cracked (but not torn)) Am thinking about changing them in the near future...
