I am wondering if the preditor will leave a tune "footprint" in the computer of my 09 dodge ram? I am concerned that if I do have a warranty issue that it will not be covered due to having a aftermarket tune installed.
I am guessing I am not the first one to ask, however I have not seen a clear answer as of yet, and figured maybe mike could help me with this one.

I think you can completely de-tune your truck without a trace but the Diablo guys should weigh in. I am at the SEMA show now so I will ask them tomorrow.

i talked to the predator guys at sema today and they said that there is NO footprint. they are the only tuner available today that can be completely removed without a trace. their new products are really cool. looks like an ipod. if you want to get in touch with them directly send me a pm and i will get you the phone numbers of the guys to talk to.

Here is the answer I recieved from Diablo:
Justin,
Thanks for the question, I encourage you to ask any questions you may have and I will do the best to get you all the answers you need.
Regarding the warranty...
One of the many things DiabloSport takes pride on is our engineering. We take the necessary time in R & D to ensure that the product you receive works the way it is advertised and is completely safe for your vehicle. The question you asked is one of our most common. The easy answer is you have nothing to worry about. We take the extra steps needed in order to ensure our programming does not leave any fingerprints, watermarks, or the alike. It would be a tough business to run if our customers of $50,000+ vehicles voided their warranty for our $300-600 products. As long as you put your truck back to stock, you will never have any issues at the dealership. This is also one of the reasons DiabloSport does not allow for "tuning on the fly"-it is virtually impossible to write to a PCM while it is operating and avoid watermarks, fingerprints, etc...and DiabloSport does not have this feature like some of our competition. Be warned by products that allow for Tune of the fly, the majority of those products will leave traces of the programming.
Another example of our programming is in the newer GM tools (I know its not your application but just to make a point). All new GM vehicles have "flash counters" which basically count the number of times the PCM has been written to, read, etc... DiabloSport is the ONLY company whose programming does not show up in the flash counter. We stand strongly behind our programming and I can ensure you that as long as you put your truck back to stock prior to getting it serviced they will never be able to realize it was tuned by DiabloSport, and if they tell you otherwise it is simply a lie.
If you care to read up a bit on the legislation that prevents dealerships from giving you a hard time over aftermarket products, please see below. And if you have any other questions please feel free to ask. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_Act (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson%E2%80%93Moss_Warranty_Act)

Sorry I have not replied guys, SEMA has me all backed up.
As has been mentioned, there is no warranty concern with the Predator or Trinity, we have done our homework on these....search around, you wont find anyone that has reported any issues.
