Hopefully this is in the right section; I apologize if it isn't.
Alright, I'm posting this for my dad, as he is kinda upset about this and doesn't want to deal with it.
The truck is a 2006 Ram 1500 Thunderroad Edition 4X4

He was driving home from work and at first the interior lights started to flicker, then his dash lights went out, then after that his gauges and radio both went out, pretty close to the same time. When the radio went out a burning smell filled the truck, it was bad enough to where he couldn't breath and had to pull over to air the truck out.
The truck was never shut off so he made it home. But when we got here we found out that the turn signals, high beams, fog lights and the headlight on/off switch do not work. Along with all the stuff listed above.

Does anyone know what this could be?
Or a guestimate as to what it would cost to have it fixed?
And a side note: Whats the smallest rim that will fit on this truck?

Thanks,
James

forgot to add 4wd also quit, and the ABS light came on right before something started burning again.
so it sits with the battery unhooked.

Are you still under warranty??? Do you have any aftermarket accesories??? All of those items are feed by the TIPM (underhood fuse block) and if it were to get wet, it may make things stop working or go haywire.

Nope, not under warranty, I would of just taken it in if it was.

The truck is 100% stock.
The only thing I changed are the tires, But they were the stock size.

I took the Gauge cluster out and noticed the circuit board was black in a couple spots.
Would this cause other things to go crazy as well, if it happened before anything fried?

It's a possibility, the Cluster is the body computer in those. It would be best to get a scan tool on it to see what codes set.

A basic OBD II reader won't tell you anything other than the Powertrain items. You need it checked with a full blown scanner, capable of CAN Bus communication. Either through a good independent shop, or the dealer with their StarMOBILE or wiTECH scanner.
