Alright, i have a question for all of you, I have a 2009 dodge ram, I have the Mygig radio with uconnect, but no navigation, (i dont know if it is a RES/REN/REQ/, or a RER) not sure how to tell, But i keep reading all over there is a way to connect our ipod directly to the mygig radio and use the radio as the controls for the ipod. Is this a myth? or is the cable stuffed up in my glovebox? or do i have to purchase this cable? Does anyone with my setup have the option working? My unconnect was factory installed. If that helps

Steve,
If you are referring to the plug on your radio, then that's a cable you can buy that connects your Ipod to the radio. This allows you to listent over your radio speakers but not control the device.
Hope this helps. I know it can be purchased at walmart or radio shack stores.

Look in your glove box. If there is a connector in the back, then you should be able to buy the cable at the dealer and plug your ipod in. If so, you can also control the ipod from the radio controls from the same screen where you select the songs on the hdd.

You have to open your glove box all the way beyond its max by squeezing in on the side then look to the right on the side of the truck not the glovebox there should be a black box with a spot left to plug in the cable, Now if you have a newer ipod that has the lower voltage you need a different cable then the original one the dealers should know and you should know which one by whether or not yours is 12 v or whatever the new lower voltage is I think 5 v dont quote. Hope this helps. By the way for 09 the Mygig without Nav is REN. Good Luck

My 2010 Ram came with the cable. It is a giant multipin cable that plugs into a port in the glove box. The I-pod plugs to the other end. It does allow i-pod control using the touch screen radio but it does not charge the i-pod (why I don't know) Every time I plug my i-pod in I get a message on the i-pod screen that the "device does not support charging"

I believe the cable that comes with the Mopar uconnect i installed after in my 09 charges them too. I don't have the cable yet, my son wanted it so I told him to get it I dont have an ipod. but the cable that plugs into the box beside the glove box just plug into the ipod and works on the REN screen so you dont get introuble with law, we cant use phones, ipod, mp3,nothing yet some of the functions on the radio are so complicated its safer just to use your phone on speaker and leave it in your lap. I just love the voice recognition part and uconnect for the phone.
