Can you simply bolt in a 6.1 in place of your 5.7?

with minor fab work yes but why do this? the power gains of only 75 hp not worth the $$ IMO

I put on 60k miles per year, and will need a new motor in another 18 months or so. I just thought if it wasn't that big of a deal I'd go with the 6.1. I have a large boat that I pull in the summer up and down some very big hills on the way to Branson MO, and thought the extra power would help, and still maintain the longevity of the motor with out adding a chip.

not to sound dumb, but this is my 1st Dodge. i grew up with Fords. Will that 392 crate enging in a long block just bolt up? Company pays for car allowance, and fuel, but they will not let me get a diesel or I would have.
