How do the chrome clad wheels on the Sport & Laramie hold up to the winter elements?

Are they actually chrome or is it a plastic? I figure if it's plastic they'll probably last alot longer.

The chrome surface is plastic. To me they seem a bit weak. Mine were bought off another forum member with 4000 miles on them. There were several scratches I managed to buff out and one pretty good size chip where the chrome seperated from the plastic. Having said that - I absolutely love the look and have no regrets with the purchase.

as with any chrome clad wheel....if you don't keep them clean, they will deteriorate over time from the abrasive tendencies of brake/road dust...keep 'em clean or upgrade!

ya the brake dust will get to them way faster than an actual metal surface, at least chrome that is
