4WD switch trouble

i am having trouble with my 4wd not locking in when turn the switch. Sometimes the 4wd light just sits there and flashes, other times it will flash for 4-6 minutes and then lock. I need some assistance on what to check or how to fix it. thanks for all support.

Year, Model, Engine, Trans. please. What mode are you trying to get into, 4HI (AKA 4Lock) or 4LO???

2007, ram 1500 4x4 hemi. when i try to go to 4 hi and 4lo. it doesn't descrimimnate.

If your truck was built on or before June 1, 2007, it is a candidate for TSB 03-001-07- involves replacing the Front Axle Disconnect Actuator and flashing the TIPM (Totally Intergrated Power Module, the underhood fuse block).

If your still under warranty, just go to the dealer and tell them what the 4WD is doing. Don't mention the TSB off the bat. If they look at the truck, and think there isn't anything wrong, mention the TSB. As long as the truck is in the build date range, you're set.

How good has the dealer's service department treated you in the past??? If you JUST went out of warranty, the dealer can do a goodwill warranty repair. This is usually a one time goodwill. Wait, don't you have 7/70 powertrain??? PM sent.
