2005 Ram Leaking

Hello Ram Truck Members.

I'm looking for a bit of help and I'm hoping that I can find some pointers. First here's my truck:

2005 Dodge RAM 1500 HEMI 5.7Litre 2WD Automatic Single Cab. It currently has 48K miles.

The problem I'm having is that my coolant is leaking badly. Recently, I had the same leak and ended up replacing my thermostat housing as well as my water pump. The leak stopped and all was well. Now, it has begun leaking again from the same spot, which is somewhere near the location of the water pump.

A friend of mind who helped me replace the water pump the first time suggested I do some research and see if there was a possible recall, because it doesn't make sense for it to be leaking from the same spot so soon. I have only driven about 5000 miles since replacing the water pump the first time.

Has anyone here experienced this problem or something similar to this? I don't want to be replacing the water pump every time I change my oil. I'm hoping that there is a solution somewhere that will help me out. Any help and/or suggestions with this will be greatly appreciated.

You need to pressure test the system and look for the leak. The gasket surface is aluminium, and can't be gouged. Make sure the hose connections are clamped properly. Check the Engine coolant temp sensor for a leak.

Would definitely help to know where its leaking from. Did you reuse the water pump seal or install a new one?

I installed a new seal as well cause the previous one was broken.
