I have a 2009 RAM 1500 4.7 4x4. Our other plow truck had taken a crap so we got a plow for this one. Plow was installed Monday. After install we got a look at the clearance that the assembly had from the ground and its only 3 inches. Wondering if I should get Stiffer springs for the front or do something like a leveling kit. Or maybe some one knows of an aftermarket spring I can put in? Any suggestions would really help thanks

Personally from experience plowing, you want some more strength up there that is why if you read your manual it says not to put a plow on the half ton. Too late so I would say stronger springs and shocks since they a coilover shocks you should be able to get something for it, but problem lies when you take the plow off. So if there is some type of adjustable system that is what to look for. But strength not height is what you need well strength and height. Let me know what you do I was considering a plow. What kind of plow did you put?

I'd recomend stiffer springs and adjustable front shocks.
I run the Rancho RS 9000 XL Adjustable shocks, I'm very pleased with them.

Well the reason I was told that you don't put a plow on the 1500 is because you can set off the air bag if you hit a thing like a parking stone that is anchored for instance. What kind of plow and did you have to cut the front bumper?
