have a 1991 dodge ram 3/4 ton 5 speed transmission. the problem is this:
sometimes the clutch does work and then all of a sudden i have no clutch.
the transmission has been rebuilt about a year ago. The master cylinder, the
slave cylinder have been replaced, the lines bled, and the fluids have been
replaced. The problem is the clutch will work for a while and then intermittently
quit like I have no clutch at all. Please advise, and thanks in advance.

It should be a hydraulic clutch. Check the reservoir and fluid level and lines. Probably all it needs.

Yeah, I saw you said "re-read the post". Check them again. Just becvause all the right things were done and "new" doesn't mean that something hasn't failed.
Check them again.

no the hydrolics seem to be working but the clutch still works intermentent. I found out the mechanic used 80/90 wt oil instead of the engine oil the manual recomends. We have not found out yet if changing oil helped or if he has even changed it yet. I have to start in in gear sometimes and then it will work for a while but not always.

Wait a sec... you didn't put motor oil in the clutch system, did you??? The hydraulic clutch uses DOT 3 Brake fluid. The trans. takes 5W30 oil if it's a Getrag unit (doubt it) or Synthetic 75W90 Gear Oil in the NV4500.

It has dot 3 in the hydrolic clutch oil in the trans

fixed the problem. It was the clutch itself. The springs were coming loose. Thanks for the help.
