Navigation Conversion

OK, I have an 08' Ram Quad Cab BigHorn 1500. It has the 1.5 din (Rabbit Ear) factory stereo with Sirius Satellite Radio. I want to convert it to a navigation system using factory Mopar parts, keeping the use of the Sirius Satellite radio. I know that I will have to get the 2 din factory navigation bezel, thats no problem off ebay for under $100. I think, from what Ive found in researching that it has to be one of the REC units, but what about the antenna for the gps? Could I use the existing antenna for the satellite radio in my truck for the satellite on the REC unit? Are there any other harnesses needed? Also, what about the navigation disk? Thanks for any help.

The REC Navigation radio (and any factory Chrysler radio for that matter) uses a seperate antenna for the Nav. There are 2 different part #'s for the antenna. Both are the same antenna, but one has double sided tape on it to mount it on an A/C duct instead of installing it in the factory location, which on your truck is under the defroster grille, It's easy to install in the factory location, just pop off the defroster grille, and you will see 2 nuts molded into the dash. Just snake the wire through the dash with the radio out. Part # 56038630AA for the taped version, 5064128AA for the untaped original version, the 2 screws for the original are part # 6101945.

As far as Sirius and adpators, you don't need any. The radio is plug and play. The Sirius chip is not part of the radio on your truck, it's seperate. The Navigation disc is Part # 5064033AE or higher (AF, AG, AH, etc.)
