Hey all, I just purchased my first dodge ram 1500,(2001 quad) and was wondering if all is ok. My dilemma is, when i"m driving say at 45-50 mph, the engine appears to rev. What i mean is if i am at a steady 50 mph 0r less, it feels and sounds as if the engine is reving higher. The rpm guage rises and falls. Also at this time the gas pedal feels kind of sensative. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's got plenty of gitty up and i am really glad i purchased it, but it drives me nuts to no end.

it could be the gears in the truck depending on the engine 5.9 4.7 5.7 i have the 5.9 its the only engine in the dodge trucks that make max torque at 2,800 rpm dodge use's very low gear setup, it could be the injectors. ? when u step on the gas gradually getting upl to speed, when it feels like it is catching up does it jerk or jump

There is also a TSB for the torque converter going in and out, I will have to find it.
